After the Boy Scouts of America (soon-to-be Scouts BSA) decided to change their name to accommodate the admission of girls into their higher ranks starting next year, backlash from sponsors was inevitable. But it’s doubtful they knew such a decision would cost them 425,000 scouts (approximately 18.5% of their total enrollment) from the Mormon Church, the organization’s leading sponsor over the past century.
