I Can Keep Myself Organized with this Cabinet Door Hack! is republished from http://ift.tt/1Qfw8v0
Mom told me never to write on the furniture — but I disboyed!! I found an awesome way to write on my cabinets with this cabinet door hack and keep myself organized!
Growing up, I remember my grandmother having a little note holder on the inside of her cabinet with a pen and her handwritten grocery notes. I’d always wanted one, but hadn’t found one that works on my cabinets (the self stick stuff just wouldn’t stay). Then I found a solution – look what I just did!
I found this Scotch brand Dry Erase Tape at our local Lowes, but it’s also available here.
I didn’t bother to measure with a ruler because I found if I at least got the width close, I could straight edge the inside corner to get the best fit.
There’s also a chalkboard tape version available, but I can’t find it online at the same price , and I didn’t like it as much because I’m just not a fan of chalk since it wipes so easily. They were both around $3.50 at Lowes.
I used the dry-erase tape on a few jars, and they just didn’t work because they wiped off too easily. I’ll stick with my cheap masking tape hack for those, but we love this stuff on our cabinet. We also put a strip on our backdoor to record when the last time we watered was and I put some in our linen closet to record what we needed because I KNOW the kids aren’t going to remember to come to the kitchen to mark it down. I just attached a pen with string to a thumbtack and pressed it into the tape on the wall. I couldn’t take a photo because of where it is, it’s too dark (or washed out with a flash) since it’s in a hideaway spot.
I had originally purchased it with the intent of putting it on the front of the fridge to write the weekly menu and stop wasting paper, but we found that we just liked the print out better in the plastic sleeve. No chance of accidently wiping part off when someone puts away an appliance on top or gets into the cookie jar. But I’m definitely in love with the inside door cabinet idea!
I hope you found some inspriation in this!!!
