I’ve had goats on my homestead for years now. I love all the great benefits I get from them. I get profit from their meat and milk and just having them around brings joy to my heart. Here is how to get started:

How To Milk A Goat – Proper Milking Procedures

You’ll Need:

• sterilized basin
• teat dip
• goat milking stand

Step 1 Wash the doe’s udder before milking.

Step 2 Trap milk in teat by clamping at top with thumb and index finger

Step 3 Squeeze milk down by adding lower fingers. Do not loosen thumb and index finger.

Step 4 On a test cup, squeeze the first squirt using all fingers. You squeeze the first squirt in a seperate container to remove any inpurities.

Step 5 Keep squeezing, squirting fresh milk into a container.

Step 6 Massage udder for more milk.

Step 7 Dip teats after milking to keep goat hygienic. This is typically an iodine solution for keeping the bad bacteria out. Get some here.

Finally: Chill the milk. It is ready.
