Have you ever thought about having pizza while camping? I know I have. I have always been wishing that I could just dial my phone and ask the pizza delivery guy to bring over a nice hot pizza. Well, sadly, they don’t deliver without an address. But kidding aside, if you want to enjoy pizza on your next camping trip, you can. All you’ll need are a few ingredients and a dutch oven!

How to Make Campfire Pizza

Make campers happy with an unforgettable feast.

What you’ll need:

Dutch oven – Cast iron pot with a lid essential for making gourmet pizza over campfire.
Toppings – Get creative! Goat cheese and caramelized onions, barbecued chicken, wild mushrooms, fresh corn, arugula or asiago.
The Dough – Flour, water and yeast. Make it at home or make it at camp.

Step 1: Preheat

When you’ve got glowing coals, pre-heat your dutch oven for 20-30 minutes. *dutch oven tips here*

Step 2: Grease

Grease your oven with high-heat oil.

Step 3: Add Pizza

Slide your pizza into the dutch oven, put the lid on and cover with hot coals.

Step 4: Cook It!

Cook for 10-15 minutes. Check every five minutes by carefully opening the lid, if the top is nicely browned, it’s done!
