Of all the thousands of articles about bugging out, very few of them talk about bugging out in the rain, but it’s a very important topic. According to the National Weather Service, some parts of the country, such as the Pacific Northwest, get rain almost every other day. Even parts of the country with average rainfall, such as the East Coast, still get rain every third day or so.
Imagine trekking through the wilderness during a rainstorm… Your socks are wet, your clothes are soaked, and water is leaking into your bag, damaging your gear and supplies. Not to mention how cold you’ll feel and how weak your immune system will be after spending the day in rainy weather. I say all this because I want to help you understand how important this issue is.
In this video, Serious Survivor explains how to prepare yourself to bug out in the rain. He doesn’t just talk about the kind of gear you’ll need (ponchos, umbrellas, etc.), but about how to find gear that can withstand even the heaviest rainstorm. There is a ton of great information here, so check it out in the video below.
