1. Garlic

Garlic is packed with antibacterial properties which make it one of the best home remedies to heal cavities.

What you’ll need:

  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon of rock salt

Directions:

  • Peel and crush the cloves of garlic.
  • Add the ¼ teaspoon of rock salt to the crushed garlic.
  • Mix them until a paste is formed.
  • Put the paste on the affected tooth and leave untouched for 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove the paste and rinse with mouthwash. Listerine would be my choice.

Repeat this process twice a day for a month.

2. Turmeric Paste

This paste is made with turmeric powder and mustard oil. The combination of the two ingredients will help cavity pain and help treat any gum inflammation around the affected area.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard oil
  • Bowl

Directions:

  • Combine 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and 1 teaspoon of mustard oil in a bowl.
  • Mix well to form a paste.
  • Massage this paste onto the affected area for about 10 minutes every day.

You will soon notice a huge difference!

3. Cloves

Cloves are loaded with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties making this remedy one of the best home remedies to assist in cavity pain.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 clove

Directions:

  • Slowly chew an entire clove for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Next, move the clove to the underside of your tongue and keep it there for 10 minutes.

This can be done 1-2 times a day get rid of cavities.

4. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and is an excellent choice to assist in cavity pain.

What you’ll need:

  • ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cotton ball

Directions:

  • Dip a cotton ball into the ¼ cup of ACV.
  • Place the soaked cotton ball directly on the affected tooth for about 10 minutes.

This remedy can be done 2-3 times a day. You will start to see an improvement within 1-2 weeks. It is safe to do this every day until the cavity feels better.

5. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is packed with antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

What you’ll need:

  • ½ teaspoon of tea tree oil
  • 1 cotton swab

Directions:

  • Dip the cotton swab in the ½ teaspoon of tea tree oil.
  • Place the cotton swab on the affected tooth for 5-7 minutes.

You can repeat this process until the cavity has healed.

Alternatively, you can combine 4 ounces of warm water and ½ teaspoon of tea tree oil and use this as a daily mouthwash.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 4-6 ounces of warm water

  • Combine 4-6 ounces of warm water and 1 teaspoon of salt and stir until fully dissolved.
  • Swish the dissolved salt water for about 1 minute, then spit.
  • Repeat until the salt water mixture is completely gone.

This can be done 3 times a day to assist with cavity pain.

7. Camphor and Mustard Oil

This remedy is one of the most popular remedies to help with cavity pain as camphor and mustard oil are both loaded with antibacterial properties.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon of camphor
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard oil

Directions:

  • Combine the camphor and mustard oil to form a paste.
  • Spread this paste onto the affected area and leave on for 5 minutes.
  • Rinse your mouth with warm water.

This remedy can be done once a day.

8. Oil Pulling

Coconut oil contains antiseptic and antifungal properties which are beneficial.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil

Directions:

  • Swish 1 tablespoon of coconut oil for 15-20 minutes.
  • Next, rinse your mouth with warm water.
  • Brush as usual.

For best results, this remedy should be done twice a day – once first thing in the morning and once before bedtime.

9. Salt and Pepper

The combination of salt and pepper possesses antibacterial and antiseptic properties which makes it an excellent remedy.

What you’ll need:

  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon of pepper
  • 4 drops of water
  • Bowl

Directions:

  • Combine and mix the salt and pepper in a bowl.
  • Add 4 drops of water to form a paste.
  • Spread this paste onto the affected tooth and leave for 5 minutes.
  • Rinse your mouth with warm water.

This remedy can be done twice a day until the cavity is healed.

10. Homemade Toothpaste

This homemade toothpaste contains antiseptic and antibacterial properties and is the perfect homemade toothpaste.

What you’ll need:

  • 4 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of xylitol
  • 2 tablespoons of clove oil
  • 2 tablespoons of calcium powder
  • Bowl

Directions:

  • Combine the coconut oil and baking soda into a bowl and mix thoroughly.
  • Next, add the xylitol, calcium powder, and clove oil to the coconut oil and baking soda mixture.
  • Mix all ingredients together to form a paste.
  • Brush your teeth with this paste to get of cavities.
